Advice services
We aim to provide information and advice to any disabled person who requires help. Our advisors have direct experience of disability and they are therefore able to share their own life experiences and thus create a feeling of unity. During office hours we maintain a telephone helpline. A very important part of our work is helping benefit claimants (see the Benefits advice link).

Disability awareness
In order to heighten the general public's awareness of disabled people we are developing Disability Awareness Training (DAT) sessions. Currently we are offering them to schools but we expect to offer them to other organisations in future.

Access
We have given organisations our advice on accessibility to buildings. However accessibility covers many aspects of life for disabled people which we want to address in future.

Work experience
REACT is very fortunate in having an easily accessible and spacious office complete with computers, telephones, minicom system, facsimile machine and photocopier. We are sometimes able to give volunteers and others returning to work an introduction to modern office procedures, such as word processing, that can help our volunteers with the skills and confidence to enable them to seek further job opportunities.
